Get ready for fun: Amherstburg Open Air Weekends return in 2026!
The weekly events run from Friday at 3pm until Sunday at 8pm in the downtown core of Amherstburg. Find everything you need in our Open Air streets from craft beer, gourmet popcorn, cotton candy, frozen yogurt, gelato, baked goods to ice cream, satisfy your long awaited craving for delicious drinks and desserts from your favorite Amherstburg eateries. Shop Amherstburg’s amazing local businesses for clothes, accessories, home decor, jewelry, shoes, candles, classic and new author books and more!
This year, we’re introducing MORE themed event weekends to spice things up! Whether you’re a foodie, art enthusiast, or music lover, there’s something for everyone.
Whether you’re a long-time resident or a first-time visitor, Open Air Weekends are a must-attend event for all ages.
Youth Entrepreneurs
We’re looking for young entrepreneurs and makers to showcase their talents at Open Air Markets in downtown Amherstburg this summer.
Youth 25 and under who already run a small business, or who are just beginning to explore their entrepreneurial spirit, are encouraged to participate in an upcoming information open house. Parents, grandparents, and guardians are welcome to attend with young participants to ask questions and learn how to get involved at this year’s Open Air Weekends event.
When: Sunday, March 29 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Where: Behind the Gordon House in Amherstburg (266 Dalhousie St.).

Open Air Markets are back for the season, and we’re now welcoming vendor applications!
This year’s series features 14 weekends of markets, including nine Friday-only markets and five special three-day market weekends, offering plenty of opportunities to showcase your products and connect with visitors.

This summer, history comes alive in the heart of Amherstburg! Join us every Saturday and Sunday at 2:00pm for a fascinating walk through our storied past led by costumed historical guides who bring the tales of old to life.
Through this guided walking tour you’ll uncover the rich roots that helped shape our town into the gem it is today.
Where: Tour begins at at the Clock Tower (Richmond & Dalhousie Streets)
When: Saturdays & Sundays at 2:00pm

Yoga in the Park: Sunday at 10:00am
Yoga in the Park returns!
Breathe in, stretch out, and soak up the beauty of summer in King’s Navy Yard Park.
Join us every Sunday at 10:00am by the gazebo for free outdoor yoga classes led by experienced instructors. Surrounded by nature and the calm of the river, it’s the perfect way to start your Sunday – centered, refreshed, and connected.
Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or trying it for the first time, all levels are welcome. Just bring your mat, water, and positive vibes!

Chess Classes & Tournament
Join Latitude Chess for relaxed, welcoming chess classes held outdoors during Open Air this season! These sessions are designed for players of all skill levels and focus on learning, practicing, and enjoying the game in a social setting.

Join us for Coffee & Culture, a brand-new Sunday morning series happening at 3:00pm during Open Air Weekends. Each week, you’ll engage in thought-provoking and informative conversations led by local experts, historians, and passionate community voices – all while enjoying your morning coffee in the heart of downtown.
Whether you’re a history lover, architecture enthusiast, or just curious about the town you love – there’s something for everyone at Coffee & Culture.

There are many ways to enjoy Open Air Weekends. Whether you are riding your bike, driving your electric or gas vehicle or need accessible parking we have got you covered. Areas of our downtown streets (Richmond St., Dalhousie St., and Murray St.) will be closed starting at 3pm on Fridays, and re-opening at 8pm on Sunday.
