Join us for Open Air Weekend on July 26 to 28! Celebrate Pride this weekend by visiting our photobooth, creating rainbow bracelets, joining a dance party, and watching special performances! We have plenty to offer for everyone.

What's Happening This Weekend:

Friday

  • Night Market: 5-9pm
  • Live Music:
    – 5-9pm: DJ Chris Tuer
    – 7pm: Bagpipes in the ‘Burg

Saturday (TRUE Summer Fest)

  • Activities:
    – 8am: Acai Yoga/Pilates
    – 11am-1pm: Chess Class with Latitude Chess
    – 2pm: Historical Tour
    -6-7pm: Games with Mel Lucier
    -7:30-10pm: Disco Dance Party and Drag Show featuring Zsa Zsa, Airress, and Sevyn
    – All Day: Photobooth and Button Making Crafts
  • Live Music:
    – 7pm: Open Mic Night

Sunday

  • Activities:
    – 10am: Yoga in the Park
    -11am: Storytime Sundays at River Bookshop
    – 2pm: Historical Tour
    – 3pm: Coffee and Culture

We Were Always Here, a celebration of the 2SLGBTQ+ Community in History exhibit at Park House

Pride Picnic with The Park House Museum

Join the Park House Museum during True Fest on June 27th and 28th for a celebration of the history of pride festivals.

Park House is partnering up with Tellers Cafe to commemorate the first gay picnic held in Canada, which happened at Holiday Beach. The celebration will kick off at the clock tower on Richmond street, where visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about Amherstburg’s queer history, partake in crafts, and enjoy a picnic.

  • 10:00am: Exhibit and Crafts open
  • 12:00-1:00pm: Snacks and Solidarity: grab a picnic, either BYOP or purchase one from Tellers Cafe and listen to the stories of the 2SLGBTQAI+ community in history
  • 1:00pm-2:00pm: Exhibit and Crafts open
  • 2:00pm-3:00pm: Listen to additional stories of the 2SLGBTQAI+ community in history
  • 3:00pm-4:00pm: Exhibits and Crafts open
