A new season of Open Air Weekends return starting Friday, May 30th!
Stroll the streets of downtown Amherstburg and enjoy expanded markets, lively entertainment, family-friendly activities, and exciting themed weekends. Get ready to soak up the sunshine and celebrate summer – every weekend’s a reason to come out!

MAY-AUGUST: Park House Museum Summer Activities
Get ready to time travel every weekend this summer at the Park House Museum! In celebration of Open Air Weekends, they’re bringing history to life with interactive, family-friendly activities every weekend. Whether you’re a history buff, a curious kid, or simply looking for something unique to do downtown, the Park House Museum has something for everyone.
This week, join Park House for Music Off The Back Porch on Friday at 5:30pm and for Behind the Scenes: Curator’s Tour of Special Collections on Saturday at 4:00pm, 5:00pm, 6:00pm and 7:00pm.

JUNE - AUGUST 29: We Were Always Here, A Celebration of the 2SLGBTQ+ Community in History
Join the Park House Museum and engage in their temporary exhibition, “We Were Always Here, A Celebration of the 2SLGBTQ+ Community in History”. The exhibition highlights four historic members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, tells their stories, and encourages visitors to reflect on queer history.
The exhibition serves as a reminder that we were always here, and that the 2SLGBTQ+ community has existed all throughout history. It highlights both the achievements and struggles faced by the community’s members, and their constant struggles for equality, individuality, and respect.

JULY 3 - AUGUST 28: Amherstburg Sightseeing Cruises
The Amherstburg two-hour cruise from Windsor Premier Cruises returns in 2025. Enjoy a sightseeing cruise around Boblo Island, and down the Livingston Channel to the mouth of Lake Erie.
Cruises depart from Amherstburg’s Kings Navy Yard Park at the docking area near the Murray Street park entrance (Murray St & Dalhousie St). Boarding begins at 1:00pm and the ship departs at 1:30pm.

JULY 7-27: Faces at Gibson Gallery
Experience the gallery’s latest exhibit running until July 27.
FACES by Marshall White will be displayed from July 7 -27 in the gallery.
A reception will take place at the gallery on July 27 from 1:00pm – 3:00pm.

JULY 10: A Blaze of Story Tour at River Bookshop
“A Blaze of Story Tour 2025” Brings Community Storytelling to Essex County.
A regional storytelling series celebrates heritage, memory, and local voices across five Ontario communities. On Thursday, July 10 visitors enjoy an evening of storytelling at River Bookshop in Amherstburg. Storyteller Milo Johnson brings local reflections to life!

JULY 11: Bagpipes in the Burg
Bagpipes in the Burg returns to Open Air Weekends this summer.
Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Gibb Insurance Brokers, the tradition will continue on select Friday evenings at 7:00pm during the event.
The parade route will run along the King’s Navy Yard Park pathway, up into the Open Air footprint and end at the Clock Tower (Richmond & Dalhousie Streets).

JULY 13: Read-a-thon & Stuffie Social
River Bookshop is hosting their first Read-a-thon and Stuffie Social to promote reading and arts in Amherstburg!
This all ages event will feature appearances from local authors throughout the day. Visit the shop between 10am and 2pm, choose your spot to read – and don’t forget to bring your stuffie!

JULY 18-20: Amherstburg Art Crawl
Amherstburg Art Crawl returns for it’s third event in the summer of 2025. Come experience a creative journey through the downtown streets of Amherstburg during this year’s Art Crawl event taking place from July 18-20, 2025. Join the art crawls through the downtown, take part in live demonstrations, interactive lessons and opportunities to meet artists!

JULY 27: Amherstburg's Gone Car Crazy Show
Amherstburg’s Gone Car Crazy Show is back for it’s 19th event on Sunday, July 27, 2025.
For one day only hundreds of classic cars of all shapes, sizes, from all different towns/cities and years descend upon the streets of downtown Amherstburg.

AUGUST 2-3: Fort Malden Living History Festival
Watch as history comes alive with the sights, smells and sounds of history.
Visit period encampments as re-enactors and volunteers recreate the lifestyles of several different time periods. Experience live cooking demonstrations, musical performances, featured talks and historic weapons demonstrations that will blow you away!

AUGUST 15-17: Farm Fest in downtown Amherstburg
Get ready to experience the charm of the countryside right in the heart of downtown Amherstburg at Farm Fest, happening August 15 to 17 as part of our Open Air Weekends series!
Pedal tractors, animals, agriculture-themed activities, and more will fill the streets, turning downtown into a hands-on adventure. Whether you’re a kid eager to meet the animals or a grown-up interested in supporting local agriculture, Farm Fest has something for everyone.

AUGUST 22-24: Latin Fest in downtown Amherstburg
Get ready to dance, dine, and discover at Latin Fest, a vibrant celebration of Latin American culture coming to the heart of Amherstburg this summer! From August 22 to 24, downtown Amherstburg will come alive with the sights, sounds, and flavours of Latin America as part of our Open Air Weekends themed event series.
Over three exciting days, Latin Fest will showcase the richness and diversity of Latin culture through cultural dance, musical performances and demonstrations.
Shop from vendors and participate in latin-inspired crafts all weekend long!

AUGUST 23-24: Art by the River
At Art By the River, immerse yourself in vibrant local art against the picturesque backdrop of Fort Malden National Historic Site.
