Get ready to paint the town red and white as Amherstburg throws one of the region’s most exciting Canada Day celebrations! From sunrise to fireworks, we’re filling the day with family-friendly fun, music, food, and unforgettable memories.
What’s Happening:
9:00am, Canada Day Run/Walk/Wheel (details below)
10:00am – 6:00pm, Fort Malden activities (details below)
11:00am, Food Truck Eats: Enjoy a variety of delicious food and treats from local food trucks. From savory bites to sweet desserts, there’s something for every craving in Toddy Jones Park.
12:00pm, Hockey with the Admirals: Test your skills with a game of field hockey in Toddy Jones Park with the Amherstburg Admirals!
12:00pm – 5:00pm, Mighty Machines: Kids of all ages can climb, touch, and explore the town’s coolest municipal vehicles! Ever wanted to honk the horn of a fire truck or see inside a snowplow? Now’s your chance.
12:00pm – 5:00pm, Scavenger Hunt sponsored by Sutton Funeral Home: Visit near the Clock Tower (Richmond & Dalhousie) to get your scavenger hunt card.
12:00pm – 6:00pm, Face Painting & Family Activities: Let your imagination run wild with colourful face painting, games, and a Canada-themed scavenger hunt that will have the whole family engaged and exploring.
2:00pm, Cupcakes: enjoy a free Canada Day cupcake served by Town Council and the Amherstburg Admirals – While supplies last!
3:00pm, Rivertown Dance Academy: enjoy a performance in Toddy Jones Park!
7:00pm, Opening Ceremonies & Live Music: As the sun sets, Nick Fazio will open the music portion of the evening at 7:30pm, followed by Bigg Wiggle at 8:30pm hitting the stage to bring high-energy live music in King’s Navy Yard Park ahead of the fireworks. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the show!

Canada Day Run/Walk/Wheel at 9:00am
Start your Canada Day with a burst of energy at the Amherstburg Canada Day Run/Walk/Wheel at 9:00am at 100 Laird Avenue (in front of Fort Malden).
Whether you’re sprinting, strolling, or rolling, this 5K race(plus a 1K Kids Dash) is all about fun, and community spirit. The course takes you through Amherstburg’s historic downtown core, and every dollar raised goes back to local charities. In 2024 the race donated $24,100 to the community!
All registrants will receive a medal and adults will receive a shirt guaranteed if you register by May 1, 2025.
Celebrate July 1st with cheers, red-and-white pride, and scenic views!

Canada Day at Fort Malden from 10:00am - 6:00pm
Celebrate Canada’s 158th anniversary of Confederation with free admission to the Fort! Explore the open-air heritage demonstrations and enjoy family friendly activities!

- Air brush tattoos and yard games on the parade square

- All Buildings open 10:00am to 5:00pm
- Barracks, Cookhouse and Museum remain open until 6:00pm
