FEBRUARY 1 - MARCH 2: The Never-Ending Quest for Inclusion Exhibit at the Amherstburg Freedom Museum
The Artists of Colour’s “The Never-Ending Quest for Inclusion” exhibit will run at the Amherstburg Freedom Museum starting February 1st.
This special presentation displays a combination of paintings, images, artifacts and interactive informative panels that tell stories of strength, determination, and the resilience Black Canadians and leads visitors to learn more about Black Presence in Canada.
An Opening Reception will take place on Saturday, February 8th from 2pm to 5pm at the museum.

FEBRUARY 7: Evelyn's Valentine's Day Experience
Join Evelyn’s for a fun night of sweet treats and chocolate designing.
Each guest will create a fantastic and unique piece of chocolate, fill a delicious candy bag and make a personalized card.

FEBRUARY 8: Book signing with Craig Shreve, author of The African Samurai
The Amherstburg Freedom Museum and River Bookshop are pleased to present Craig Shreve, author of The African Samurai.
Craig was born and raised in North Buxton, Ontario, and is a descendant of Abraham Doras Shadd, the first Black person in Canada to be elected to public office. His debut novel One Night in Mississippi has been optioned for film, and The African Samurai has been translated into twelve languages.
The critically acclaimed historical novel is based on the true story of Yasuke, the celebrated Black Samurai who lived a remarkable life in 16th century Japan.

FEBRUARY 14: WSO Concert: Celebrating Black Composers
In partnership with River Bookshop and the Amherstburg Freedom Museum, the Windsor Symphony Orchestra celebrates Black composers.
The evening concert will see performances of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Four Novelettes, who was a British composer of mixed-race heritage and a late 19th-Century Romantic powerhouse and Adolphus Hailstork’s work, Sonata da Chiesa (Church Sonata).
Doors open at 6:00pm, with the concert beginning at 7:00pm. Tickets are $35.

FEBRUARY 22: Stand-Up Comedy Night at the Legion Fort Malden Branch 157
Branch 157 is excited to present Stand-Up Comedy Night featuring Leo Dufour on Saturday, February 22.
Tickets are $20 and the kitchen will be available for orders.
