The King’s Navy Yard Park in downtown Amherstburg has been voted the BEST Park in Windsor Essex. This park speaks to the region’s naval history and overlooks both the Detroit River and the mouth of Lake Erie. However, it is most valued for its spectacular flower beds and planters adorned with plants you would expect in tropical climates.

Fort Malden National Historic Site was another winner, voted BEST Historic Attraction in Windsor Essex. Not only is the Fort situated on the shoreline of the Detroit River, but also it boasts three historic buildings and the grandest collection of historic artifacts in Ontario! In the summer season, this historic site welcomes its guests with opportunities to experience a soldier’s stew or to fire a musket or just explore this British 1900th-century military base.
