How to Enhance Your Amherstburg Uncommon Experience
When attending the Amherstburg Uncommon Festival, you can brush up on the history of steampunk and prepare your Harry Potter outfit, but there are other ways to get so much more out of the festival. Calling all Steam punks and Wizards
As previously mentioned, a hat is a must for any Steampunk aficionado. If you don’t have your own, you can purchase gear at the festival at our merchandise booth! Stop and Shop at the uncommon vendors downtown for accessories to make your steampunk or wizardy outfit complete! Once you have your costume ready you can sign up for the Amherstburg Uncommon costume contest that runs on both Saturday and Sunday! Show off your costume with a parade through downtown Amherstburg for a chance to win an Amherstburg prize basket!
Buskers Hit the Streets
Fire, music, acrobatics, magic and more! Buskers hit the streets of the uncommon festival all weekend long. Experience an uncommon variety of great live performances with fire, magic, music, acrobats, comedy and more! With different buskers every year you won’t want to miss the show!
Seb Whipit - Amherstburg Uncommon
Birds of Prey
Experience Birds of prey all weekend long at Amherstburg Uncommon! Listen to educational presentations by Kingsport Environmental Falconry about a variety of owls and falcons. Watch their birds of prey performances and see the falcons and owls fly on our downtown streets! You will also get the chance to have an owl or falcon sit on your arm! Get up close and personal with these amazing birds for an unforgettable experience.
Teapot Racing
Ready. Set. Race! Put your thinking skills to the test and come up with a teapot racer for our Amherstburg Uncommon Teapot race! Using any kind of teapot or teacup and a remote controlled car design your very own unique racer to take on our teapot racer obstacle course! first, second and third place winners get a prize!

Niffler
Niffler Scavenger Hunt
It’s time to go out Niffler hunting! Stop by the Uncommon Merchandise Tent and pick up your Niffler scavenger hunt card! Search high and low around the Uncommon festival for five little sneaky Nifflers! Once you have found all five locations fill out your card and bring it back to the merchandise tent for an uncommon prize! The scavenger hunt runs all three days of the festival from 12pm – 10pm.

Snap An Uncommon Picture!
Expect the unexpected! There are many uncommon photo opportunities in the downtown streets of Amherstburg and Kings Navy Yard park.
The Dragon – Out giant purple dragon looms in the Kings Navy Yard park next to the wizard ball toss. he has become a fan favorite over the years with his fantastic roars.
The Hot Air Balloon – Venture down the street to our large hot air balloon! Snap a picture in the hot air balloon basket with all your uncommon friends and families.
Octopus Legs – On the corner of Richmond and Ramsay street you’ll encounter wild octopus legs climbing out of the River Bookshop! These legs glow in the dark at night and make for a great photo.
The Uncommon Characters – Roaming the streets and park will be some uncommon steampunk and wizardy characters that you can interact and take fun pictures with.
