How to Enhance Your Amherstburg Uncommon Experience
When attending the Amherstburg Uncommon Festival, you can brush up on the history of steampunk and prepare your Harry Potter outfit, but there are other ways to get so much more out of the festival. Calling all Steam punks and Wizards
As previously mentioned, a hat is a must for any Steampunk aficionado. If you don’t have your own, you can purchase gear at the festival at our merchandise booth! Stop and Shop at the uncommon vendors downtown for accessories to make your steampunk or wizardry outfit complete! Once you have your costume ready you can sign up for the Amherstburg Uncommon costume contest that runs on both Saturday and Sunday! Show off your costume with a parade through downtown Amherstburg for a chance to win a cash prize!
Snap An Uncommon Picture!
Expect the unexpected! There are many uncommon photo opportunities in the downtown streets of Amherstburg and Kings Navy Yard park.
The Dragon – Out giant purple dragon looms in the Kings Navy Yard park next to the wizard ball toss. he has become a fan favorite over the years with his fantastic roars.
The Hot Air Balloon – Venture down the street to our large hot air balloon! Snap a picture in the hot air balloon basket with all your uncommon friends and families.
Octopus Legs – On the corner of Richmond and Ramsay street you’ll encounter wild octopus legs climbing out of the River Bookshop! These legs glow in the dark at night and make for a great photo.
Spider Legs – The upper floor of the Gordon House is occupied my a giant spider with green glowing legs! Stop by and snap a photo underneath.
The Uncommon Characters – Roaming the streets and park will be some uncommon steampunk and wizardry characters that you can interact and take fun pictures with.
