The oldest and longest serving ship in the Royal Canadian Navy will be visiting Amherstburg!

HMCS Oriole was originally launched in 1921 after being acquired by the Navy during the Second World War. The vessel is 31.09 m (102 ft) long with a 1,000m (11,000 sq ft) sail.

The ship will be docked in King’s Navy Yard Park from August 25-27.

Schedule of Events:

  • CANCELLED: Daily ship tours from 9:00am – 12:00pm and 2:00pm – 5:00pm
  • Pirate Scavenger Hunt in the downtown/King’s Navy Yard Park on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00pm – 3:00pm

Update on August 26, 2023: Due to decreasing water levels at the King’s Navy Yard Park dock from this week’s storms, the HMCS Oriole has docked at the Canadian Coast Guard. Tours and public viewing is not available on site. The ship can currently be viewed from King’s Navy Yard Park. They will be docking in Sarnia Sept 1-5. We will share any further updates from the ship as they come our way.
