In 2008 many individuals and corporate sponsors donated their time, money and skills to the fountain project to help ensure visitors and residents alike enjoyed their visit to the downtown core.

The fountain depicts the woman “Hebe”. According to Greek mythology Hebe was the goddess of youth, daughter of Zeus and Hera. Her name comes from the Greek word for youth, and it was believed that she had the ability to restore youth.

She has become a great asset to our award winning gardens and today the fountain is one of the most photographed locations in Amherstburg, especially with wedding couples and families.
