With the Ford government increasingly pressuring municipalities to speed up and expand development to help address Ontario’s housing crisis, the Town of Amherstburg has taken a big political step to protect its historic charm.
The entire downtown core – including more than 100 historic ‘properties of interest’ -Â should be designated a heritage conservation district, a municipal council committee is recommending.
