Putting Spring 2023 into Your Step!

The Gibson Gallery has its doors open beginning March 2, 2023 and they can’t wait to show you some of the region’s best talent.

Amherstburg’s Gibson Gallery a Michigan Central Railroad Station, ca. 1896, has been lovingly renovated to its original Romanesque glory featuring towering ceilings, hardwood floors and bevelled glass windows. This season they are offering yet another creative perspective to kick off their 2023 art exhibits.

This year starts off with their “Members Exhibit”. See various artwork by the talented members of the Gibson Gallery, paintings, quilt work, drawings, jewelry and more! You will be astounded by the creative work from our local community! This is a not to be missed exhibit taking place during regular gallery hours from March 2nd to March 19, Thursday-Sunday, 11am-5pm.

Upcoming Exhibits this Spring

The Gibson Gallery has lots of exciting upcoming exhibits this spring!

March 23rd – April 9th – North Star High School “Emerging Artists”
Reception Sunday March 26th 1-3pm.
An annual display of artwork by the talented students of North Star high School.

April 9th – April 16th – Artist Station “Where the Birds Fly”
Reception Sunday April 16th 2-4pm
The Artist Station Guild (Gibson Gallery) will showcase their talents with different mediums & compositions reflecting their love of nature and anywhere the birds fly.

May 25th – June 4th – Diana Roy “A Lifetime Retrospection”
Reception Sunday April 30th 1-3pm
Diana Roy’s Avant-garde body of work spans 5 decades, reflecting across multiple art movements leaving a legacy unparalleled. Her resume is filled with awards. She loved realism and the bending of realism.

Upcoming Exhibits This Year

May 25th – June 4th “Student Pix-Through Their Lens”
The Gibson Gallery & the Greater Essex County District School Board are pleased to present STUDENT PIX an imaginative digital photography exhibit by students of Essex County.

June 6th – June 25th “Toan Khoan-It’s Personal/The Journey”
A personal story of fleeing communist Vietnam by boat and landing in an Indonesian refugee camp. His feelings of isolation, frustration and discrimination is reflected in his passionate work. Bold, inviting colors draw you in. Toan Khoan has resided in Windsor for several years.

June 27th – July 9th “The Color of Art-The Artists Of Colour”
formed in 2008, the artists of colour have become a positive voice through arts. As artists, they emphasize art as one of man-kind’s greatest means of communication which is their goal…to tell stories through the arts. The works are an assemblage of narratives of the Artists of Colour.
