The Mural on the brick building in the King’s Navy Yard Park (that houses the public washrooms) is being painted by local Artists Dennis and Dylan White. This father son team are a town treasure. Dennis (father) discovered his skills at the age of 28 and Dylan acquired his skills by going with Dad to Mural jobsites.
They currently have a contract with Pet Valu to paint all their dog wash murals across Canada that keeps them very busy. So far they have completed over 500 of these particular murals.
The Town of Amherstburg is fortunate enough to have been able to commission them for this KNYP mural project. With both men having a passion in Amherstburg’s history and promoting art within our community they are taking this opportunity as a chance to showcase Detroit River as a shipping Channel, an International Heritage River and a one of it’s kind International Wildlife Refuge.
More details to come on the details of this artwork as the mural progresses.
